Get ready for cabaret, comedy and club nights as Winterville Christmas festival launches in Victoria Park.
Prepare for the most wonderful time of the year with Rachel Allen’s fabulous Christmas cake recipe!
Just when we thought East London couldn’t get any cooler along comes Winterville, the newbie Christmas Fair slap bang in the middle of Victoria Park.
Going above and beyond the obligatory ice rink, Winterville will transform this East End space into a mini-town complete with Ferris wheel, Roller Disco and indoor pub. Winter Wonderland who?
Combining the best of traditional and alternative Christmas fare, Winterville’s program is jam packed with everything from a Santa’s Grotto to burlesque performances from infamous London troupe Cirque du Cabaret, inside a wood and mirror panelled Dutch Spiegeltent no less, and a Rebel Bingo Christmas Special.
For party-goers the weekends will be where it’s at, with free-Friday club nights put on by Bugged Out! and Saturday night disco raves courtesy of pop movement Guilty Pleasures. Sundays, meanwhile, will play host to a LGTB takeover with appearances from the legendary Sink The Pink and more.
Fuel up for all this festive fun at some of your favourite street food stalls, including mac n’ cheese mecca Anna Mae’s and Dalston local Voodoo Rays, before getting into the Christmas spirit at one of Winterville’s many on-site watering holes. In fine East London tradition, the indoor pub will be serving up an impressive range of craft beer, while the Hot Cider Bar will be on hand to warm your cockles with one of their bespoke seasonal cocktails.
To quote the Winterville crew themselves, ‘Christmas in the capital will never be the same again’!
