Antipasti is a fantastic starter to serve up at dinner parties, as it’s so easy to prepare and invites everybody to pick at and nibble at leisure.
One of our favourite things about an antipasti platter is the essential bowl of deliciously intense preserved vegetables in lashings of golden olive oil. Here’s out choices for our top 10 all time favourite jarred antipasti.
What to See
For posh anti-pasti put these wafer thin slices of preserved summer truffle in a bowl and let everybody top their ciabatta as they please.
An anti-pasti staple, these salty mixed olives of all shapes and sizes are mixed with intense sundried tomatoes to transport you to Italy in a mouthful.
£5.45 Fortnum and Mason
For anti-pasti with a luxurious feel these anchovies preserved with truffles are the only option. Salty from the fish with earthy undertones, they’re just calling out for ciabatta and a sprinkling of parsley.

These wonderful nutty artichokes have a delicious chew, and are wonderful wrapped in a silky slice of Parma ham.
Anti-pasti wouldn’t be complete without these sun blushed little beauties. Intesnely tomatoe-y with a delicious herby oil, serve with some creamy mozzarella and bread for soaking.
This spicy spread has a wonderful meaty texture with a lovely kick. We cannot recommend this enough spread on chargrilled ciabatta with sundried tomatoes and a grating of Parmesan.
These gorgeous peppers have a lovely sweet note and sumptuous soft texture. Serve them with ricotta and sprinkle with basil for a wonderful sharing plate.
For a real salty kick this tapenade is ideal. Spread it on fresh bread and add a pinch of fresh cracked black pepper.
These vinegary caperberries are far more suited to antipasti then their smaller cousins capers, as they are perfectly bite sized.
A fantastic addition to a veggie anti-pasti, these meaty mushrooms have a wonderful silky texture. They’re also delicious with pasta if you have any leftover!
