The Ninth restaurant

The Ninth | Charlotte Street London W1T 2NB

The Ninth brings Mediterranean to Charlotte Street.

Jun Tanaka is to take on Charlotte Street with the opening of his new French-Mediterranean joint The Ninth.

The Ninth will be the first solo project that celebrated chef Jun Tanaka has worked on, however it – rather fittingly – is the ninth restaurant he has worked on in his career, previously being under the guidance of chefs such as Eric Chavot and Marco Pierre White.

At his new place on Charlotte Street Tanaka aims to create a convivial atmosphere of relaxed French neighbourhood style dining, with the hopes of becoming a local favourite.

Combining a talent for excellent technique and only the best ingredients, Tanaka’s dishes are complex but light, allowing flavours to stand on their own.

Dishes include lighter choices such as oxtail croquettes, veal tortellini with bone marrow, rabbit lasagne with smoked bacon, and even an interesting aubergine caviar. More filling options like lamb en croute with truffles and beef cheeks with oxtail consommé are on offer, while puddings focus on classics such as pain perdu with honeycomb or tarte tatin with rosemary ice cream.

The restaurant has been designed in warming shades of terracotta and deep green, the perfect space to explore the beautifully accessible wine list – concise at 25 bottles of both red and white and a small handful of rose wines, it’s a list that’s a joy to peruse.

We love Charlotte Street’s cosmopolitan vibe, The Ninth will be a wonderful addition to this charming street. The Ninth is set to open on the 22nd November 2015,

50% off food on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th November for dinner only, and Saturday 21st November for lunch and dinner. The offer is only available if you make a reservation via 0203 019 0880.
