Ian Schrager opens The New York Edition hotel in Manhattan
Manhattan is enjoying a surge in new luxury hotels and the latest opening is from Ian Schrager. He has taken over the Clocktower building – previously the Metropolitan Life Insurance Building, once the tallest building in New York.
Located in near Madison Square Park, within walking distance of Union Square, the Meatpacking district and Chelsea, The New York Edition is ideally situated for anyone heading to NYC for an action packed weekend.
Inspired by the old New York apartments of the 1920’s, guests enter The New York Edition hotel through a dark oak panelled foyer. The rooms are classic, with dark walnut headboards and sophisticated oak desks. Many of the suites have incredible views of the Manhattan skyline and they even have a 1400 square foot penthouse.
Our very own Jason Atherton has taken over the kitchen of the hotel’s restaurant, over looking the park, on the second floor of the hotel.
