As of Tuesday 11 June, the fabulous Hawksmoor Spitalfields Bar and Restaurant has been given a new food and drinks menu, a new entrance, and a whole new lease of life. Didn’t think they could improve it? Think again.
We’ve always loved Hawksmoor for its weird and wonderful cocktails, high quality food and rocking atmosphere, so we were delighted to hear about the installation of their cool new entrance on Commercial Street and the new additions to their already amazing menu.
Among the new dishes added to Hawksmoor’s previously meat-centric menu are a deliciously original ‘almost vegan’ (the brioche bun naughtily contains butter) Chana Masala Burger, and a very up-market Fillet ‘o’ Fish burger, made with whiting and jalapeño tartare. There’s also the decidedly un-vegetarian addition of the Pig’s Head Poutine, providing a gourmet variation on the Canadian classic, and some really juicy, flavoursome Seoul ribs.
The restructured drinks menu means that there are now five delicious new cocktails devised by different teams of Hawksmoor’s ingenious bar staff, rotating on a monthly basis, so that there’s always something new to tickle your fancy. These feature alongside five permanent cocktail staples, including the bizarre, brilliant and thoroughly British Marmalade Cocktail (Gin, lemon, Campari & marmalade.)
