Table Linen

Our weekly lifestyle column brings you stylish homeware must-haves from interior designer Emily Penrose. This week we take a look at table linen.

Hoxton table runner – fennel

Crafted from 100% jute fibres the Hoxton table runner is available in 6 gorgeous tones to suit your décor. We particularly love the fennel but you could mix and match with different coloured napkins and placemats from the range to make a fun and vibrant style statement. They can also be thrown in the washing machine… what’s not to love?

Merci Merci

Rustic, pure linen tablecloths from Merci Merci have Parisian chic written all over them. In a variety of washed-out colour combinations, they will provide a subtle background to dinnerware while also being high in the style stakes.

An alternative to buying a purpose made table linen is to find a fabric you love and create your own table runner or tablecloth, even layering up different colours or patterns for a decadent and dramatic effect. Take a look at the new collection by Finnish brand Marimekko for inspiration. My money would be on the 100% cotton, screen-printed Jussarö fabric, inspired by rolling dark and stormy clouds.
