The luxury of the Riviera just came to London, as Alain Ducasse opens Rivea in Knightsbridge. Decked out in light blues, crisp whites and highly polished chrome, the second restaurant from Ducasse is in the luxurious Bulgari Hotel.
Centred around the fresh and vibrant cuisine of coastal Italy and France, Rivea is set to be a destination restaurant for all those looking to experience stylish, simple food in one of the most opulent settings in London.
With Ducasses’ own protégé Damien Leroux taking the wheel in the kitchen, Rivea’s menu is all about ‘La Cuisine Du Soleil’, a regional cuisine of the Riviera focused on seasonal produce, flawless cooking and simple, bold flavours.
Rivea’s menu is comprised of a selection of small plates, the idea being to select 4 or 5 dishes from starters, pasta dishes and ‘Rivea Plates’.
Setting itself apart from the meat-centric restaurants, Rivea has a particular focus on vegetables, with dishes such as the garden pea soup, Tuscan pecorino ravioli and potato, sage and parmesan gnocci being some of our must-trys.
The menu’s ‘Rivea Plates’ are all about delicious provincial plates like blue lobster with purple artichokes; roasted duck with turnips and beetroots; and an incredible rib and saddle of lamb, simply served with new potatoes and broad beans.
Set lunch at Rivea includes a selection of three small plates plus dessert for £32 including half a bottle of wine.
Dinner is £65 a head for a seven-course tasting menu.
