Red Market

We’re painting the town red this summer as Red Market returns to Old Street for its 4th year of art, music and kick ass food.

If art is your calling check out the beautiful photography of Richard Mosse.

If you’re bored of the same old pub gardens, sweaty clubs and stuffy galleries this summer then Red Market could be just the thing you’re looking for. Returning for its fourth year as the ‘East Ends cultural capital’ has something for everyone, with it’s super slick combination of incredible art, banging music and awesome street food making it a hot spot for everyone from foodie fanatics to art connoisseurs.

Art buffs of the East End are already pulling on their converse for this years most highly anticipated event ‘A Fete Worse than Death’. This one day only exhibition, taking place on July the 19th, shall be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the art demonstration that artist and innovator Joshua Compton hosted in 1994 to encourage people to enjoy art without ‘the annoying handle of art around it’.

To translate this means come see awesome art from the likes of Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin and Gary Hume in a village fete like setting, with bunting and all that other paraphernalia adding to the surreal artistic experience that’s unlike any gallery you’ve ever visited.

Not only does the fete and gallery have some of the best art in London, it will also be banging out some kick ass tunes all day long, as the summer of disco begins again at the Red Market with Disco pioneers Phil Misson, Balearic Mike and Moonboots taking to the decks to show us all how it’s really done.

And of course dancing the night away in the heart of Shoreditch is hungry work, so Red Market are bringing back a few of their favourite street food stalls to feed hungry visitors with some awesome food and tongue tingling drinks.

You’ll find us at Mark Hix’s styled out Citroen H van where he’ll be dishing out his awesome Hix’s Fish Dogs. This ultimate fish finger sandwich is the perfect way to keep those energy levels up for all night raving, whilst a fresh summer cup from the exclusive Pimm’s bar is the perfect way to keep refreshed on a hot summers night.
