Get your hands on some Southern Soul Food at Porky’s on South Bank
Get your BBQ on with this sticky smoky rib recipe!
BBQ fans are in for a treat as Porky’s opens its doors on June 6th, bringing their all American Memphis BBQ and deep South soul food to Bankside.
The awesome new restaurant from husband and wife team Simon and Joy Brigg, follows on from the success of their first restaurant in Camden, with a no-fuss menu based around low and slow cooking. All of their meat is cooked on a traditional Memphis style grill and Oklahoma smokers so that the natural juices of the meat stay right where they should be.
The main event at Porky’s is the dry rubbed, slow smoked ribs. A huge rack of pork ribs cooked slowly over hickory, then slathered in Porky’s home made BBQ sauce. For some fun on a bun Porky’s also offer up their personalised ‘hounddogs’, pork sausages coming with a vast array of BBQ toppings like chilli cheese and pulled pork, and of course some kick ass juicy burgers.
As if you’re not already saddling up to get down to Porky’s they’ve also got some BBQ inspired cocktails to wash down all those slow cooked ribs and dogs. We can’t wait to slurp up a Stout American, a sweet concoction of bourbon, stout, chocolate liqueur and coke, or maybe something refreshing in the form of a Smokes and Rye, a smoky cocktail made with bitters and fresh lime juice.
