John Whaite is back with his second baking bible, John Whaite Bakes At Home.
Don’t miss John’s fabulous Pecan Pie recipe from his new cookbook
Back in 2012 John Whaite baked his way onto our screens, winning Great British Bake off without a soggy bottom in sight. Since then he’s not stopped churning out the baked goodies, appearing at food festivals, teaching at his new cookery school and of course writing his cookbook John Whaite Bakes At Home.
The first instalment of the John Whaite Bakes was a riotous success, and we’re sure his second book looks like it’ll be going down the same road with delicious bakes to create at home.
With chapters dedicated to fabulous breakfasts, leisurely brunches, special occasions and more, you’re guaranteed to find far more than a victoria sponge when the baking bug bites and you need some inspiration. As if he didn’t already have everything covered, John’s also included a handy recipe finder at the front of the book, so whether you’re looking for muffins to try or gluten free recipes you’ll find them quicker than you can say ‘it’s got a nice wobble.’
For a loaf of bread unlike any other, John’s got a walnut, mushroom, parmesan and onion loaf, a perfect picnic loaf with all the filling staying meltingly warm. Our must try, show-stopping bake is the choco-berry fraisier cake. A light chocolate sandwich cake filled with a sharp blackcurrant crème and fresh berries for decoration.
