Istanbul launches in July, an inspirational cookbook, by journalist and tv presenter Rebecca Seal, that takes you on a journey of the eclectic tastes of the magical city of Istanbul.
Istanbul’s pages are full to bursting with sumptuous Turkish recipes from every corner of the city. Rebecca was inspired by the fascinating gateway to the East city, where Asian and European flavours fuse effortlessly from one dish to the next. It was the exciting gastronomy of the city that led Rebecca to write Istanbul.
Rebecca Seal is the editor of the Soho House Group’s magazine Cookhouse and has written for Observer, Times, Sunday Telegraph and Grazia. She has previously edited the book Cook: A Year in the Kitchen with Britain’s Favourite Chefs.
Recipes in Istanbul are compiled in to chapters including breakfast, breads, mezes and salad, meat and fish, vegetables, pickles and desserts. These chapters leave no culinary stone unturned, with standout dishes such as roasted aubergines stuffed with lamb, crunchy fennel salad with radishes and sumac, and chicken with almonds and apricots. Mouth-watering and compelling photography accompanies the easy to follow recipes.
To add to the stellar recipe collection travel photography from Steven Joyce conjures the colour, people and spirit of the city on the page. It is as much a compendium of travel inspiration as it is a cooking one, exploring one of the world’s most diverse and interesting cities.
