Niamh Shields, aka Eat Like a Girl, is our favourite foodie, most beloved blogger and all-round bacon hero. From her humble flickr beginnings in 2005, she has gone on to create one of the UK’s most popular food blogs, launched her first cookbook Comfort and Spice in 2011 and now she is looking for your help to take things to the next level with Project Bacon.
Project Bacon is Niamh’s new cookbook concept she has launched on the crowd-funding platform Kickstarter. The Project Bacon book will be a ‘bacon wonderland’, with recipes to enjoy for every meal and every occasion.
Niamh is going to go all-out for this book with unbelievable creations like bacon fudge, bacon marshmallows, bacon cocktails and her favourite recipe right now, maple candied bacon, bourbon & vanilla ice cream.
To create the book she needs a minimum of £20,000 – this includes 80 new recipes, a photographer for the images, an editor and a book designer. If she raises more money she will take the concept even further and you can bet she knows what she wants to do. It’s worth noting that Niamh won’t get paid out of this cash. She will be hoping to make her money from the eBook.
To get involved you can donate anything from £3 (for which you will receive weekly updates and exclusive recipes), to £17 for a copy of the finished book, right up to £540, which includes the book and a 3 hour bacon masterclass for you and 5 mates.
