Alright Guvnah! Draft House is adding a little East End flare to their repertoire, as they plan to open their 6th pub at the classic Victorian boozer The Birdcage on Columbia Road.
Just like all their other locations, Draft House Bidrcage will be all about that beer, with a bespoke menu of craft beers from all over the world. And if you’re not already in booze heaven, the drinks menu will also feature Optics cocktails, ready missed cocktails presented in three litre bottles ready to be poured on order.
In keeping with the Birdcage’s East End roots, the kitchen will be knocking out that cockney classic Pie and Mash in all its forms (a side of marrowfat peas being a must). Choose a classic Steak and Ale with a scoop of buttery mash and a good spoonful of liquor, or go a little more fancy with their veggie option of Sweet Potato and Goats Cheese topped with flaky short crust pastry.
The pubs classic Victorian interior has hardly been tampered with, giving it a proper East End feel with leather banquettes, brass lighting fixtures and an ash wood canopy bar. Every Saturday will see a ‘knees up’, featuring Columbia Road’s favourite buskers to back up patrons as they belt out their favourite tunes karaoke style. Nobody will be screaming ‘GET ATTA MA PUB!’ here (we hope)!
