Peruvian food master Martin Morales is set to open a second Ceviche on Old Street.
Try your hand at Peruvian cuisine with this delicious recipe for Sea Bass ceviche.
It seems that Martin Morales has been on to a bit of a winner in recent years with his uber-cool restaurant Ceviche Soho, the Peruvian food institution that arguably started the trend for ceviche’s, anticucho and Pisco Sours that has taken London by storm. And now he’s expanding his foodie empire, opening up a second Ceviche in Old Street to bring this super fresh and fashionable cuisine to the East.
Set up on the ground floor of the historic Alexandra Trust Dining Rooms, Ceviche Old St draws on the wonderful Victorian architecture the building is famous for, with dark wooden panelling and polished tiles injecting some old fashioned glamour into this super hip dining experience.
With an emphasis on good quality, healthy ingredients, Ceviche Old St will explore every aspect of Peruvian cuisine, including Chifa (Peruvian/ Chinese), Nikkei (Peruvian/ Japanese) Afro- Peruvian BBQ dishes and the Amazonian/ Andean superfoods Martin is infamous for, available to eat in and take away!
As if that wasn’t enough, there will also be a few dishes inspired by classic Victorian cuisine and Peruvian recipes from the 19th century (we’re not sure what they are yet, but damn it if we’re not excited!).
And if you’re here thinking ‘this all sound delicious, but what about the ceviche?!’ worry not! A dedicated bar to this classic Peruvian fare will allow diners to watch their ceviche being prepared and even customise their own dishes. An open BBQ will be grilling up anticucho skewers with every meat and sauce under the sun, and bar snacks offer a lighter bite to accompany a cold Pisco Sour at the end of a long day.
Ceviche Old Street is due to open in March 2015
