The gorgeously elegant and gloriously traditional Bumpkin restaurant recently opened, bringing a taste of the English countryside to Chelsea.
Bumpkin have opened their 4th site in Chelsea, serving up their signature easy-going British food, in a really cool indoor-outdoor setting.
The restaurant menu changes throughout the year to incorporate the best seasonal ingredients into their dishes. The summer menu includes such mouth watering British classics such as the smoked Gressingham duck with pink grapefruit, rhubarb and tomato dressing; a fabulous creamy Goat’s cheese and beetroot salad served with roast fennel and tomato.
The cocktail list is similarly quintessentially English, with the delicious ‘English Garden’ (Hayman’s gin shaken with cucumber, elderflower, mint, apple, lemon juice and a hit of soda water) heading up the list, and our favourite, the Smokey Mary (Vodka and tomato juice with a hint of smoked water, complimented with home-made spices) adding a touch of heat and spice to the menu.
The wonderful food and drink can be enjoyed in the airy garden, a botanical paradise which is open all year round, with heaters and large umbrellas to shelter you from the elements, and plenty of sunlight for when the sun deigns to come out. Who said the British summer doesn’t last forever?
