In the UK we’re bombarded with images of deserted dunes, spotless white sands and turquoise tides on a daily basis. On the tube, the TV, buses and billboards, pictures designed to draw us abroad for our holidays loom large… but the real beach buffs know, the brightest coastal gems sit a little closer to home…
The Great British coast line is studded with beautiful beaches, and we think it’s about time they get some recognition. So, without further ado, here’s our run down of the best UK beaches.

What to See

Stunning, secluded and sandy, we love this beach. Very romantic, very private, it’s a great place for a romantic weekend away from it all with your beau.

A beautiful view, crystal clear waters and loads of space, this huge sandy beach is a great place to take the family, with plenty of room for children to run around without disturbing anyone. Definitely one of the best UK beaches for kids.

Especially dramatic at sun set, Camber Sands is a beautifully vast sandy beach, where sea and sky merge almost seamlessly at the horizon. The drive from London is totally manageable drive too, making it a great place for a spontaneous day trip.

Set in the wonderfully historical Tynemouth, this beach is popular with visitors of all ages, probably owing to its great location and the wealth of things to do in the area. Surfing lessons are available, too!
