Wine lovers rejoice as Bar Boulud launches Friday night wine clubs
Ever since we first sampled Daniel Boulud’s Piggie Burger in his New York outpost of Bar Boulud, we’ve had a soft spot for him and his restaurants (if you haven’t tried one, you’re seriously missing out). So, when we heard about a monthly series of Friday night wine evenings this side of the Atlantic, led by Bar Boulud’s Head Sommelier, our interest was immediately piqued.
The premise is simple. An hour and a half with David Vareille, a set price of £35, and he’ll take wine-thusiasts through a different wine every four weeks in the rather lovely surroundings of Bar Boulud in the Mandarin Oriental hotel, Hyde Park.
The next one takes place on Friday 11th April and starts with ‘The Best of Chablis’ – showcasing legendary Chablis producers including Domaine Raveneau, Dauvissat, Moreau and Defaix. Best of all grape-loving guests will have the chance to sample a selection of vintages as much as 30 years old.
If you’re already booked up for April, there’s A Chateauneuf-Du-Pape tutorial on Friday 9th May, then ‘6th of The 6th’ (a liquid tour through France’s most famous wine regions) on Friday 6th June.
