Founders of beloved neighbourhood restaurant Margaux open new French eatery in Chelsea.
Sylvia Kontek and Vittorio Monge, the husband and wife team behind Margaux on the Old Brompton Road have put their heads together to come up with Bandol, a new restaurant focusing on the flavours of southern France.
The food has been develop by Zsolt Ferencz of Scott’s, and draws on the flavours of Provence and Nice that translate to a light but warm menu of predominantly seafood dishes. They’ll be yellowtail carpaccio in a honey dressing, a signature bouillabaisse with red mullet, and roasted sea bass with smoked tomato.
Puddings carry on the sunny ethos with roasted fig tart or refreshing lavender and thyme ice cream.
The wine list has been a labour of love, constructed with care by Sylvia as an ode to their first restaurant. It’ll be dominated by wines from the south of France with a generous proportion of them available by the glass of carafe.
Bandol is opening in the heart of Chelsea on October 7th, and is sure to be as loved in the local food scene as its older sister Margaux.
