Following the success of his first venture in Shoreditch, Terrance Conran has recently opened a new Albion Cafe on the Lord-Rogers designed NEO Bankside in Southwark, and we couldn’t think of a more perfect setting.
With its 95 seater interior and 45 cover outside terrace, there’s plenty of room for everyone at the Albion, making for a homely, bustling atmosphere which is very in keeping with the rustic, wholesome dishes on offer.
The inside overlooks a huge open plan kitchen where all dishes are freshly prepared, and the outside is heated, for year-round al fresco dining.
Cafe classics like the all day breakfast (minus the customary grease!) sit alongside home-made favourites like shepherd’s pie and Irish stew to create a hearty, comforting menu. London and Kent brewed beers are available in both the shop and cafe, so you might even want to try before you buy!
The shop sells all sorts, from Chegworth farm veg to Neal’s yard cheeses and wonderfully fruity rare English wines, there’s a locally produced treat for everyone! So whether it be for a meal, a drink, or a snoop around the shop (or all of the above), get yourself down to the Albion Neo Bankside ASAP.
