Let 34 Restaurant add a little Mayfair magic to your brunch.
Mayfair institution, 34 Restaurant, has launched a new weekend brunch menu that’s bursting with brilliant dishes.
The swanky restaurant that is famous for using Kate Moss’s breasts as a mould for their champagne glasses knows how to through a sophisticated spread.
We enjoyed a long brunch in their elegant dining room, sipping champagne from ‘THOSE’ glasses and feasting on vibrant yellow egg and beef hash with slow cooked onions and a slightly sweet mustard dressing, and a plate of USDA steak with more of those sunny side up eggs.
Off brunch, we couldn’t resist chargrilled octopus with chorizo and a creamy roasted garlic and potato sauce. The octopus was cooked to perfection, curling around a magnificent blue marbled plate and showered in spring onions and pea shoots.
Champagne flowed and we drifted into desserts. A praline chocolate fondant that was rich and nutty was quite simply the best fondant I have ever eaten, bursting open at the slightest nudge of fork. We also devoured a peanut butter crunch bar. It tasted like a posh Lion Bar, neatly layered with chocolate, peanuts and biscuits and served with a beautifully tart black current sorbet.
Despite a few lame attempts at leaving, each time giving into one ‘last’ glass of fizz from our fabulous waiter, we finally rolled out several hours later, already plotting our next excuse to return.
Brunch runs on weekend, with complimentary champagne top ups.
